Default Replacing thrust washer

We are in the middle of replacing the rod and main bearings and this is going well; except on replacing the thrust washers which side does the groove face? On the 3.0 engine there are 4 two on top and bottom between the 3&4 and 5&6 cylinders.

The oil grooves face the crankshaft, the stamped numbers face the block. Make sure you have the tabs on two of the thrust washers installed correctly on the block and girdle.

The weird part is on the set we received, that works on the side facing the 3 & 4 cylinders but on the 5 & 6 cylinder the bearing with the bearing lock only fits with oil grooves toward the block. Did I just get a bad set?
