Default R/T TT questions. again.

Running really rough on a warm start, to the point where I can floor it and not accelerate much at all, and it burps and bucks and runs like crap and dies. Is that the hot-start vaporlock issue people have spoken about here, or is it something else? Do I need an aftermarket fuel setup going on to fix this?

Once the above issue leaves, and she runs rine, I'll go to accelerate at WOT and she runs fine, up until 5k+ RPM. Then there's a bit of a hesitation, and it almost surges the higher the RPMs get. This sounds to me like a boost leak, and to find that I need to pressure test. I've looked, and can't find a simple how-to to pressure test. Can someone point me to a walkthrough(note: I have not searched either of these issues on stealth316 yet, and I will be doing so when I have more time than just enough to type up a simple post, and have the time to really read) or something, or better diagnose what my issues could be?

Had the same problem. Wound up being the caps on my ecu.

Pulled my ECU already. There was one cap(the little one) that had a bad solder joint on the bottom of the board, and what looked like a soldering iron mark on the side of the cap. I replaced that one, and the others looked fine(previously re-built ECU). The engine does run smoother on first startup now, but on warm starts and at high rpm while driving it does as mentioned above. I'm going to change my plugs sunday and see if that helps, and probably do the vac reduction too.

bump, and random thought.

Would buying the stuff needed to log the engine tell me anything about why it's running like shit and hesitating at high RPM? I'll be building my own pressure tester relatively soon, so I'll find any boost leaks or whatnot that way.

Did bob have any clue as to why this was happening. He did all the work on the car and he sounds like he reallt knows these cars inside and out. What does he think that it may be??

A logger could help, it will give you some numbers which will help us track what the car is missing. Maybe it is fue like you said. Logger Are great to have I want to get one asap.

Bob warned me of the hotstart issue, but didn't mention what could be the cause, I'm pretty sure he didn't know and didn't have the time to hunt around looking for it. I'm fairly certian about the high-RPM issue, as one of the IC pipes has electrical tape wrapped around it, so it could be a leak there, plus all the random, extra vac lines these cars really don't need have to run...
