Old School Apexi AVC-D
Pros: Cheap, easy to use, install, RPM dependant adj. on the fly.
Cons: Hard to find, no english instruction available.
I guess not having a display could be a con but thats why I have a boost gauge. Scramble mode is cool instant temp. boost increase (adjustable) at the push of a momentary switch.

Had Greddy Profec and the 2nd version
liked the original but it would still change in drastic temps.

Now have a Blitz Boost control and its flawless
only thing is I still dont see much changes when adjusting gain, what are others set at? mines at 30 now.

AEM Tru Boost

Pro:
Gauge and controller in one!
Easy to read LED plus gauge sweep
Auto Dimming (Day/Night)
External MAP Sensor for high boost reading and so you don't have to run a vac line into the cabin.
Small valve footprint.
Three settings A/B/Off (WG pressure)

Cons:
Kinda a PITA to configure and get set just right
Price not that great unless you compare price of a gauge and a EBC together.

Recommend:
Yes indeed, well worth it to have one device in the cabin to watch and adjust plus if you have a AEM WB they match!

john,

out of curiousity, can you log with that external map sensor? in other words, will it work with a palm datalogger, mmcd or otherwise?

*edit* or with the scanmaster 3? */edit*

Would be a lot of work but the HHH logger has the custom inputs so in a way you could if the logger that you are using has that feature. Not so sure how reliable it will be once you tap the line to read it though. But anything is possible I would assume.

Blitz SBC i-D

Displays real-time boost and peak boost, love the option for the programmable overboost failsafe. If you use the manual settings instead of just putting in a given boost pressure I've noticed fluctuation between hot and cold weather. It spikes sometimes in 1st gear on me, although I haven't messed with the gain at all. And it fits perfectly in the center dash vent.

I have a Tru-Boost, will most likely be selling for another option very soon.

Pro's:
Cheaper than some of the other EBC's
Looks nice

Cons:
Cannot fix boost spikes
Inconsistent boosting (1 pull might get 14.7psi, the other might be 13.9)
