Stock Evo won't put you in you seat at full throttle. A stock VR4/TT will.
Not true, a stock VR4 is about the same as a stock evo as far as how quick it is. A BPU VR4 is damn quick though. Not sure how the bpu evo is as mine is still 100% stock.
I can tell you that the handling is night and day stock to stock. The VR4 will get you more people looking at your car though.....
what were the awards? Also its like eveyone said... whatre you using it for. As you know mitsubishi has stopped production on a lot of parts for 3000's. Evos on the other hand have a wider aftermarket availibility as well as 100% of the OEM parts are still being made. 3000's are classics though. Evo's, well they just arent nor are as goodlooking. And i dont like 4 cylinder engines. Ive never driven an Evo so I cant say how it handles though.
And you have to pay to play. Look at what Mellon has done with his Evo...i can count the cars on 3si on one hand that are as reliable and as fast as his Evo is.

you may say we have more "potential" for dyno numbers, but the truth is an EVO is going to be a lot more reliable.
1. They are 10-20 years newer
2. They are an inline, inlines are generally more reliable than a v based engine because they have a lot less parts to fail and they have more main bearings per cylinder.
3. Half the turbos to fail.
4. A lot less weight to accelerate(well maybe the evo 9 and earlier, the X is a pig)
5. Mitsu has had 10 years more to develop the evos and they all come from a rally heritage, so they are going to have more reliable drivetrains.
6. ECU is much easier to tune since it is flashable and has a lot of support.
Now obviously the 3/s looks better and is more comfortable for long trips, but as far as anything from a performance standpoint the evo wins unless it is stock.
