Default Project 92 VR-4

Hey guys just picked up a 1992 Vr-4. I paid $3300 for it...79k miles...bad paint but from what I here un-common maroon color, engine bay has some corrosion, needs new leather and some interior pieces.
My plans are to pull engine and do a full detail and paint on motor, new paint job(maroon), new leather, new bumper maybe 99' not sure yet, and BPU for now. I will move up to 13T's with hopes of 400awhp on pump.
The car runs good and I though $3300 wasnt too bad...talked him down from $6500 . Needs tires too. Car came with that joke of a front bumper so I took a saws-all to it. I just started getting a pulse at idle thought...I saw that it has new looking RC injectors...who knows what size but that means its probably dumping fuel into the car. Which would explain why it failed emissions. Overall it just needs a very good cleaning and some minor fixes(windshield, power window on pass side)

SWEET BUMPER!

That engine bay looks rough, good luck with the project. I own a maroon 92 myself, they look great when they are cleaned up

Sounds like a fun build bro. It looks like it is going to require lots of hours but it'll all pay off in the end.

Congrats on the purchase. It looks like it'll be a fun project and the price doesn't seem too bad, given the overall mileage on the car. Granted, it's also bad that it looks (mostly the engine bay rust) the way it does with relatively lower mileage than most. GL with the build.

BTW forgot to add I saw you were saying you got a small problem at idle a pulse. It looks like you have a turbo XS RFL BOV which could possibly cause it and it causes stalling as well. Try throwing in a stock BOV and see how it goes, if that doesnt fix it during the 60K you should just take care of any vaccum, boost leaks, and clean the IAC. Anyway best of luck with it.
