Default Re: Post ONLY if you have completed a 6G74 Swap!

I purchased a 6g74 block and forged crank from Ray Pampena, and Scott built the bottom end with the custom forged pistons, rods and tool steel wrist pins. I've got almost everything in the garage to finish the project. Though John doesn't do the oil pan mod any more .

I'll be using a GT42 turbo / AEM and supporting mods. So I'm a "in progress" (slow progress)

Who is running high boost (28+psi) and what are you using for head gaskets? 94mm bore and stock 72 gaskets makes the fire ring close to the bore.

I should never say never. I will modify your oil pan if you understand that I probably won't even start in it until January and February is a more realistic completion time.

P.M. Me if you are still interested

best accident ever!

car is running well. or at least i hope it is when it gets across the pond. it did when i dropped it off

after some tuning is done it should be a fun little NA. but a future VR4 project is planned

BTW for the 6g74 to make 4.0L of displacement, i know that the common set up idea is 95mm bore, 95mm stoke. boring to 95mm is easy enough but what is the best way to get to 95mm stroke? i know you can offset a 6g75 crank to 95mm. but is that strong enough? what kind of horsepower could that crank take.

P.S. the project was competed and running in March of '08
