What I dont get is that if we believe the Porsche times they got for the GTR, its slower then the upcoming CTS-V around the ring. Hard for me to believe.

I know your only joking, but have you ever done any real driving hard on a track? When you really start to push it and things happen so fast it humbles you quickly. Then when you think your doing well and then try to keep up with an instructor. Its REALLY humbling

Watch what the stig does on top gear that is your test.

i would be inclined to agree with you there--but then again, top gear thinks the 3/s is a pathetic, bloated worthog...

then again...they do call the z06 corvette a cheaply made, extremely fast car.

It doesn't matter what they SAY about the car. What matters is what the stig hotlaps it in.

I haven't seen one comparison where the GTR was in the competition and it wasn't voted as the easiest to drive and handled extremely well.

that has nothing to do with power but drivetrain and technology on board. Put that in the hands of a capable driver and watch it go to work, the more turns the better off the GTR will fair against more powerful straight line cars.

All this fuss over a stock GTR, porsche is going to have a stroke when the V spec model hits the track with more power and less weight, not to mention a more aggressive suspension setup.

Either Porsche got a lemon or they were sand bagging.

The GT-R has beaten the Porsche in every test I've seen thus far (except the one from Porsche itself) I know magazine tests should be taken with a grain of salt....but still, it's been tested by SO many people now.

GT-R beat the 911 in all these tests:
Top Gear
5th Gear (Driven by Bruno Senna)
Road & Track (at Buttonwillow)
Car & Driver
Autocar (beat the GT3)
Evo (beat the GT3 also)
