it doesn't seem like it would be very difficult for nissan to take the gtr back and back up its times...

I think by now it's pretty clear that Nissan has been
guilty of some shinanagins with the GT-R....the numbers
never added up...
I believe Car and Driver also accused Nissan of providing
"hot" test car(s)....basically suggesting the boost was
messed with.
Interesting article - thanks

Edit: And the Porsche spokesman was way too nice....lol

I think the Porsche test driver was sandbagging it. I mean 7:54? Thats slower than a 2009 Porsche Carrera S (no turbos, RWD). I would certainly believe that the car was running different tires or higher boost on its 7:29 run but certainly the stock car is capable of better than a 7:54.

By his own words, the GTR is 20 kilos heavier. How does 20 kilos = 20 seconds slower then the porsche?
That sorta screws up his reasoning.

i just have to say that nothing on this car has EVER added up.... bs from the start i'd say. especially when they started out giving the public a different number, i think it was 7:39 or something to begin with, then all of a sudden it's one of the fastest cars ever??? just not right. I'd agree with porsche and i also believe that they were trying to be nice in the interview, i'm sure they would've blamed them of much more away from the press.

His logic is still invalid.

I am not a GTR swinger, but he keeps saying "the GTR is heavier so how could it be faster???!!?" as if 20 kilos is the be all and end all of how fast a car can be...and then his tests prove that 20 kilos = 20 seconds slower.

If Nissan was cheating (could be!) then Porsche was too (detuned GTR? LoL)!

I think the answer is simple.

Have the Nissan driver take the Porsche cars out and show up their driver.
