Default Please Read!!! Ticking time bomb

I don't know how the hell this happened but my apexi EGT gauge quit working while I was driving yesterday. I troubleshot it tonight to find out what was wrong and it turned out to be the probe. So I went to pull the probe out and when I loosened it up to remove it about 3 inches of it were missing! How the hell did this happen and where the hell is it at? These are dr 900 turbos. Im freaking out. When the egt quit working I didnt hear any bad noises. I guess maybe it is possible that it was snaped and hanging on by a thread and when I pulled it out it fell off but I dont think so. It pulled out very easy and I didnt hear anything. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Terry

It would have had to gone through the fins of the turbo though and it would have been damaged correct?

Ummm ya wasn't thinking clearly. Probably it disintegrated over time and finally just fell apart. I'd pull that turbo though and take a looksee. Hope for the best.

Right in the manifold between the motor and the turbo.

Pull out your intercooler and try and shake it and see if anything comes out of it.

hopefully you got extremely lucky and it went through the waste gate! (very unlikely) Sorry to hear about the bad news, only way to tell is to pull it, everything else is speculation.
