Russian, I do have to agree with you wholeheartedly. My goal for my 3/S is to keep it stock looking, sharp, and enjoyable. I don't want to add power to the my 97 VR4, it's already fast enough at 320 hp, any faster and it's a death wish. I enjoy it as it is now, plus it's expensive enough just keeping up the maintenance schedule on it now and not to mention some previous owner neglected items that I still need to get fixed. I owned a 92 Eclipse GSX and I didn't modify it at all and I ended up with a jumped timing belt because I didn't take care of the maintenance items. Maybe another good point is to communicate the importance of taking seemingly small issues very seriously with these types of cars. After all, a lot of the 3/Ses out there are out of warranty, so it becomes increasingly difficult to get these cars worked on if you don't do the work yourself.

I think that having a car that is fast out of the factory was designed that way on purpose, stability, drivability, and handling. Any slight change to the factory setup and you change these aspects of the vehicle and you take the authenticity out of the vehicle by drastically modifying it. All in all, good post, couldn't have communicated it better.

WOW, that's great, I'm glade to see that not everyone is HP crazy. I've had my car for 5 years and focused on brakes, chasis, and suspension. Stopping and turning seem to get overlooked sometimes.
