Default Part number for VSS removal tool (valve spring compressor)???

Hey guys since i have my engine out for a td05 upgrade i am going to replace my valve stem seals as well. I think they were the reason my car was smoking on deccel after boost. So i just need to know a part number for a valve spring compressor that will work on our cars. I realize that it is almost impossible to do this with the cams IN there so i am just going to have to deal with doing another T-belt 4K miles after my old one

Thanx in advace
Luy

edit: Just thought of this... maybe i can re-use my t-belt considering it is still brand new and just order a new tensioner???

You have to make your own tool. Somebody on here did it and wrote up instructions, I found it once when I was looking to do them. Good luck!

i realize that some folks make there own tools i on the other hand have neigther the time nor patience to make one lol i am pretty sure that there is a tool manufactured out there for Mitsubishi's that i can use with the cams out of the engine. no the $200 tool from the dealer though i think i read somewhere that snap-on had one...

PS if someone wants to sell me their custom tool let me know i need one like YESTERDAY! lol

The made tool is very simple and extremely effective.

I bought the Snap-on valve spring compressor. It doesn't fit.

By the time you finish finding a tool that will work and figure out that none of them but the factory one works, you could have made your own tool and replaced all of your VSS. Also, you can make the tool in 2 hours counting the time to drive to the store, buy the items and then fab it in your garage. It will take a few days to order a tool from Mitsubishi.

But, you are welcomed to try it the hard way.

honestly its hard enough trying to find time to work on my car much less to make a tool to use on it lol i know its sad but look at it this way my car has been down for 2 months now and what have i managed to do so far?? pull the enigne and trans... yup thats it in 2 months!! So you can see and understand how hard time is to come by for me. I work for a utility company and am allways on call and working crazy hours.

that being said i will pay someone $65 for one of these $15 tools if they really work. That $15 for material and $50 for you to make it for me. Anyone wann atake me up on this?? i really need to get this out of the way so i can start my actual upgrade work

I'm at work right now so I can't overnight it to you today. I don't know the rates either. I can have it shipped off from the UPS store tomorrow before noon. The tool weighs about 3 pounds tops. Probably around 2 because of the steel bar.

I'll pack it up when I get home.
