Re: Part # Help Thread! If you have CAPS, help someone out!
Yea, I know that, but like I said, I'm trying to keep it as stock as possible mechanically (for now). If it's there from the factory, there's a reason for it.

I think PNC 23226 is what I need, which is MR166879 (supersedes MR165353). Can you confirm that?
What to do about the counterweight then?
You read THAT wrong, I said MR165354 was superseded....

Not sure if this the right place to post this, but from reviewing the manual it looks as though Mitsu made three different forged cranks (yellow, blank/none and white). It looks as though yellow has the largest outer diameter and the white crank has the smallest outer diameter. I currently have a brand new yellow crank and I'd like to "exchange" it for a white crank so I can loosen up my bearing clearances. I've already tried using the looser bearings (pink) and my clearances are still way too tight. Does anybody have a part number for the different coloured cranks?

According to CAPS, the replacement crank for all years is MD318150 ... according to Cherry Hill triplex, that crank is also used in the Diamante. There are a few different original crank part #'s but nothing to do with colors & sizes. Where in the manual does this information appear? It seems unusual to me to have anything other than 1 size crank.
Re: Part # Help Thread! If you have CAPS, help someone out!
I came across an old post of "oohnoo" whereby he posted a section of the 99 manual re: select fit bearings. On the select fit diagram three different colours of cranks are listed as well as 5 different colours of bearings. The three different cranks have different outer diameters on the mains.
Re: Part # Help Thread! If you have CAPS, help someone out!
There's still only one crank that they manufacture. It's after the grinding of it that they measure the journals and depending on the measurements color code them accordenly. It's all about tolorances
Im in need of some part numbers, and of course my laptop that has mitsu CAPS on it died. Im swapping in my new turbos and need all new pre-cat nuts and studs, front and rear turbo bolts, nuts and studs. Also i dont know if there is a part number for the oil line crush washers, and the coolant line washers, but if so I would appreciate them too. As far as the gaskets that I need I doubt they have part numbers, Ill just hope that the person I talk to at mistu isnt slow and can comprehend what im looking for.

Call up Jeff or Brandon at IPS he got me every part your looking for so the numbers should be readily available off my invoices. I replaced EVERYTHING too.
