Anyone have the part number for the 6 speed trans linkage? From my reasearch there's no way to replace the seal, so I'll need to buy a whole new one. Joy. Caps keeps crashing when I search for transmission parts, so I need some help. Thanks!

You mean the shifter cables?

Nope, the part with the 4 bolts on top of the transmission. IIRC, a 5-speed one works, but doesn't have the counterweight. I'm looking for as stock as possible before I get the mod bug.

Ahhh, I'll see if I can come up with something, unless someone beats me to it.

Doc, I have it as MR165353, but you might want to check illustration 22-130 (goto the first sub page...it shows the counterweight) to be sure....

Bob.

Strange, it has the same part number as the 5 speed. I wonder if it includes the counterweight or not. I guess I'll call my local dealer or something.

It doesn't.

The 5 speed one is MR165434 which was superseded by MR166759

The MR165353 came in the late 93 models and up (2nd gen conversion...)

MR165353 is superseded by MR166879 which is the one I need, but there's no illustration of PNC 23226 (MR166879), it just points to PNC 23231 (MR165434), and PNC 23231 is shown with and without the counterweight on two different pages.

I think PNC 23226 is what I need, which is MR166879 (supersedes MR165353). Can you confirm that?

What to do about the counterweight then?

Counterweight isnt even needed. Several people cut theirs off.
