Continue thru the motions. It's only when you select an item that you can get the proper part number for all the different years

Hi,

Just wondering if JDM GTO's share the same part numbers as 3000GT's. You see I need a part number for the speedometer gear that sits in the VSS. Its for a JDM '96 GTO MR. I found this (Stealth 316 - Speedometer Gear Replacement) and it says that the part number for the 28-teeth gear is MR111502, but thats for a 3000GT and I am not sure if it is the same one for my GTO.

Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I went into CAPS under the Z15A (AWD, non-AWS) chassis and did find that part # as the driven speedo gear, PNC 81337.

Upon further digging, it appears there are 5 options for driven speedometer gears. The first applies to all models from 90-93 (so 1st gen) and is part# MB811064 ... 27 teeth. The last 4 each apply to different year second gens but are all the same part #, MR111502 ... 28 teeth. So it seems that would apply to your GTO, from what I can tell.

Hope that helps. The part is only $20 from Cherry Hill so it's worth a shot?

Can someone verify that a 94 dodge stealth tt ETACS unit will work with a 98?

Thanks a lot, will give them a go. Another quick question, do both auto and manual transmission have the same speedo gear?

So, would a 5 speed have a different speedo gear than a 6 speed? I've got a 6 speed so would this be the right one (MR111502) for a 6 speed trans? I just need to make sure as I'm in Australia and a $20 part might end up costing like $150 to post here.

Thanks.

From everything I have read the trans doesn't matter. All maunals use one gear, all automatics use another.
