Default A.P.E's VR4_PROJECT

I never thought I was going to start a buld thread, but I see everyone else starting one telling about there setup for the summer and I wanted to share mine. Lets start by telling about my old setup. Last year I did a stock rebuild to the engine. I also swapped the stock 9b turbos for 15g's. These were great street turbo setup. I ran 11.7's at 112mps all day. I started to get tired of running high 11's and started putting together a evo3 16g setup. After installing the evo3's I couldn't get a good tune dialed in right and never ran it at the track, but they were way faster than the 15g's that I had on the car previously. A friend of mine made me an offer that I couldn't refuse. He wanted my evo3's plus cash for the setup that I'm about to run now. Now on the the mods the the VR4.

Engine:
Bored to .035 over
Custom 3sx H beam rods
Forged Wiseco pistons
Forged crank
Ported and polished heads
3g lifters
TTONSTEROIDS (Gilberts) Custom single turbo manifolds
Garrett gt42r turbo
TTONSTEROIDS Custom sheet metal manifold ( relocates TB to driver side)
Ford Mustang 70mm TB
3" intercooler piping and 4" intercooler core
2 38mm Tial wastegates
Tial 50mm BOV

Fuel:
EK2 Custom fuel rails
880cc injectors
Twin walboro Fuel pumps
-8 AN SS fuel lines from tank to rails
Aeromotive FPR

Trans/clutch:
Rebuilt trans
Southbend stage 4 clutch
Resurfaced stock flywheel
Custom T-case cage

Electronics:
AEM Boost gauge, oil pressure, Wideband, water temp
MAFT pro
Emanage Ultimate
Knock box
HKS EVC EZ boost controller

Suspension:
Solid rear subraframe and diff bushings
Poly front subframe bushings
K-sport coilovers

Gutted interior
Corbeau Forza seats

I plan on running E85 fuel, but for breakin and for a base tune I am going to run regular pump. When I do run E85 I am adding a inline a1000 fuel pump and 1600cc injectors. Also by next year I should have 280 cams, DR stage 3 heads, Stainless steel T-case, CF driveshaft, RPS C/C clutch and 300mm rear axles

Hears some pics of the engine build:

The car should be up and running in a few weeks, and should be tuned by next month.

Maft pro + Ultimate? I would just get the AEM EMS . The price you are going to pay for AEM boost guage its better to buy the TRU + the external sensor to run more than 20psi. And the you can hook up the TRU Boost and Uego to the AEM EMS so you can log all those things together on one unit. You can also ditch the knock box if you go this route. I hope anything goes well with your build. Take plenty of pictures.

Sweet setup you have there...although I see major problems with that 90deg coupler off the compressor housing. I'd come up with a better solution than that if you are going to run more than 15psi. Keep us posted!

That is badass. I am also a little worried about that 90 degree coupler. That manifold looks amazing though. I wonder how it performs.

The reason why the coupler looks like that, is because the IC pipe was hanging and was pulling on it when I took the pic. It looks alot better now that I conected it to the fmic
