I have an Optima Yellow top battery that I have had for well over a year and has worked fine since I've had it. But since I haven't been driving my car at all, I've been monitoring it's voltage to make sure it wouldn't die completely. That is without it hooked up to the car. So I charged it a few days ago cause it was getting pretty low. After a few hours on the charger, it said it was pretty much fully charge so I took the charger off. As I did that I noticed a bubbling noise coming from the batt. It was not hot or smoking or leaking anything and is still holding a charge fine....so I'm wondering if that is a normal thing to happen, or is it pretty much screwed?
It depends on what battery you have. The yellow tops are deep cycle im pretty sure. You can bring it to autzone and they will test the cranking amps and make sure its good.
