Default Is it Okay to put my Wideband here?

well, basically i was reading up on this, and saw some people talking about where to put the wideband. ummm, i've got bungs and i figured that that's where it was supposed to go, but then i started thinking that maybe those were for the actual o2 sensors.

basically imagine that it's plugged in right above where it's hanging down at.

it's basically in the middle of where the down pipe starts to curve down. i was worried about heat, and i was wondering if i should wrap it up in something( i have NO clue what), but something. oh yes, and it's a first gen car if that makes any difference with the o2 sensors and whatnot.

let me know what you guys think please

I would personaly put it afte the front bank and the rear bank combine.. so you can get your over all engine reading.. so if you have one injector with an issue in the front.. you will know..

if you put it there you're only going to get a reading from the rear 3 cylinders. also thats way too close to the turbo.

put it like 2 feet back, after the Y in the downpipe. Somewhere where the stock cat goes would be a good spot. i put mine in my test pipe

Yea, I would put it about 4" down from where the two join, that is where mine is at and it reads fine.

if you have that bung there.. put a plug in it.. and just take it to an exhaust shop.. they will weld a bung on for like 15 bucks.. at least around here.. for me..

you need a bung. your wideband kit should have come with 1. notice how you screwed it into a round threaded thing on your downpipe? ya you need to get one of those welded into your new spot

ahhh, okay. i looked in the box and i just stared at that thing for like ten minutes. but i didn't take it out of the bag, so it sort of looked like a thirty year old fruit roll up. i guess i'll be running her over somewhere, or taking the down pipe to someone for that.

thanks a lot guys..

sheesh, does the turbo project never end...
