No, I didn't touch it. But if it were the rear main wouldn't it basically have to leak while the car is running? It won't leak a drop until I turn the car off.

Hmm I didn't think about that one. Yeah it would leak more under pressure.

Damnit I'm gonna cry
Anybody know if anyone has ever had a problem with the Supercar Engineering oil pan? I doubt that the pan has a problem but I'm running out of ideas. (yes, I have looked at the pan for imperfections and straightness, it looks fine)

Are you sure the pan mates to te engine right?Especialy at the round section that you say is leaking? This is hard to see with the transaxle in the way. There may be a gap that is too big for the rtv to seal.I suggest bolting the pan to the engine with a couple of bolts and carefuly hammer the flange to the engine at that round section. It's a new pan so it should fit right, but after 4 times it's worth a try.

LOL, should I plastigauge the oil pan, LOL!

I did put the pan on without and gasket maker this past attempt. As you said it is hard to say because the tranny is in the way but I compared it to the dip on the other side and it seems that the tranny side might have maybe like 1/16th inch more of a gap. Its noticable, but I don't think it is that big. Especially because I put enough gasket maker that I see it squish out when I bolt it on... which should mean that it would seal!

I bought a gasket for mine. it was a felpro for $15, and sealed up one leak I had, then I found out the other 2 drips were from my brand new oil pump.

1/16 shouldn't make enough of a difference. RIghtstuff would seal that just fine.

Well at this point something like the felpro gasket might be worth a try.

the only gasket I have seen available is for 1gens. Is the 2-bolt bolt pattern different from the 4-bolt. I would imagine so because SCE sold seperate pans for 2-bolt or 4-bolt. Oh, and unless I find something obvious then my next attempt will the "Right stuff" for sure as that is what most recomend.

I installed my SCE racing oil pan without any problems. But, I have a 2 bolt 1G engine. Use the Right Stuff to seal mine up. The only problem I had was the ATR downpipe was touching the extended part of the pan. Temporary fix was a ball peen hammer mod to the pipe. It's in process of a permanent fix via exhaust fabrications.

Hey guys,

I got a gasket set on ebay that had everything, including the cork oil pan gasket.. but it was impossible to line it up on the pan.. after working with it for a while, it eventually broke on me.. so I just used black RTV like the Overhaul manual suggests, engine wont go back in for over a week so hopefully the RTV sets ok and I don't have a leak either, but in my opinion, the oil pan gaskets available for our cars SUCK!
