As we all know, this year's NG could very well be the last. However, I have no intention of going out without a fight. So... I've scheduled a fundraiser to help save the NG on Thursday evening of the event. After a day in the hot Memphis sun, I think you might like this. (There's actually another fundraiser event, too, but we'll talk about that one later on)
I'm personally renting a Dunk Tank. Here's how the whole thing will work...
People can make donations to get other people into the tank. For example, let's say Gatecrasher attends and offers $10 to get Alan in the tank. I'm betting he wouldn't do it. But suppose Jeff gets a bunch of people together and they collect $100 to get Alan in the tank. I bet he 'd at least consider it. Personally, I bet you could get a lot more than that from people for the opportunity to dunk Alan, but we won't go there just yet.. So Alan agrees and gets in the tank. Then individuals can purchase throws to try to dunk him. He stays in the tank until someone dunks him. Sound good?
My hope is to get everyone to agree to help us out with this. I've contacted the sponsors and begged, but so far none are responding. That's ok - I'm hard to say no to in person. I'm pretty sure I can offer Jeff Williamson enough beer to get in there, and Terry will do pretty much anything to help us out (or at least he always has in the past). Who wouldn't just love the chance to get Eric or IPO from 3SX in there? C'mon! It's the title sponsor!
Sound good? Let's not forget that DuTTch owes me BIG TIME, and Jan promised me he'd get in the tank an she'd throw at him. I'm holding her to it. I'll let her persuade Mark, though... I'm betting she can be pretty darn effective.
