Bob, I think you have the ultimate street 3/S period. td05 power with td04 spool time.

TEXAS!! FIGHT!!
|
I was running 1.5 bar that evening/night. It was in August 2005... So you can imagine the weather conditions down here in TEXAS. I drove the car to school, got out of class and drove to the track... I didn't even bring my laptop. I had tuned it on the highway the night before and knew the tune was safe enough to run all night worry-free.
I still had stock intake tubes... I STILL have stock cams, stock heads (with a very mild port. The port dividers aren't even touched), stock valves with a 3-angle valve job (woohoo! haha), knurled exhaust valve guides (because I was too cheap to replace the guides) and a stock block with nothing altered in it other than the oil pump and bearings. I still have stock ignition other than MSD wires and copper (Denso, stock heat range) plugs @ .020" gap. I was on street tires and had issues getting through first without bogging 2nd or going sideways (which, contrary to popular belief, lol, does not help traps). I'm confident my car would trap faster now that I've ditched the stock intake tubes, particularly if I brought my laptop and took the car to the very edge. Ditching the stock intake tubes made my average trap speed go from 130-131 all the way to 133-134 mph on C16. You could linearly interpolate if you just want a rough guess at what that might get me on pump gas. Maybe a couple MPH *shrug* I need somebody to come beat me up or something... I'm more motivated to watch football and/or party in my spare time than I am to get within 100 feet of my white car. It's eating at me because I realize how hard this is on the engine, but man... I keep telling myself that if I just wait until I graduate, I'll reward her with a fresh (built) engine, cams, etc... I've accepted the fact that the next step for the car is going to cost me ~$10k. Maybe that's why I can't motivate myself, lol...

TEXAS!! FIGHT!!

Quote:
E-Manage Blue with ignition harness MAF-T v1.3x with LT1 MAF in blow-thru (mounted in front of / above transmission in a vertical position. The BOV is downstream of the MAF) I've never had issues with a fluctuating tune, but I've never had a WBO2 on the car, so I might just be oblivious to the drift Done right, MAF-T in blow-thru is awesome. Take it from somebody that did it wrong in 2004 (z06 MAF (I bought 2 new ones) and Dejon Blow-thru Y-Pipe) and got it right in 2006 ...Heh, having the BOV downstream of the MAF is theoretically 'wrong' So you can improve on my current set-up by having the BOV closer to the FMIC.Sorry for all the perenthesis, lol |
