i need help deciding what car to buy. im looking for a 3kgt vr4, need help deciding 1st or 2nd gen and what year is best.

i like 2nd gen. they worked out some bugs and the hoods are prettier. some parts cheaper for 1st gen. tough choice! j sin

parts should be the same as they both used pretty much the same parts. I always like 93's. OBD1 FTW if your moding.

It's a lot a matter of which you like the looks the best of because mechanically they are very similar. Check out this thread for a pretty comprehensive list of differences between the years.

errr....... whichever you think looks better I guess. the 99 VR4 is probably the most mechanically sound... but is pricey. 93 is a favorite of mine, easier to get parts for than most first gen, yet has that same aggressive look.

add one more to the 93's give me erections club.

cheap, strong drive train, OBD1, forged crank and rods as well as a 4 bolt(yes i know 2 bolts have been proven but just for sake of having one).

they're good stuff

lol its not what people would prefer its what YOU like, if you test drive a few at the same price but one to you looks and performs better I'd go with that :P
