Wow so you wrecked your motorcycle off-road right? And you were stupid enough to not have insurance? And now you're stupid enough to drive cross country with some suicide handlebars on your motorcycle?

I have no pity for you.

why? Why not rent a truck or van? Innovation is cool and all but... That's just dangerous for no good reason I can see.
I quote Chris Rock "you can drive a car with your feet if you want to. That don't make it a good fuckin idea!"

I agree with everyone it's not the safest thing to do but it's DAMN CHEAP. With the way gas is righ now it's not cheap to rent a van or car and rive a long distance. Good luck man I welcome you to my state anytime!

lol clueless guys, don't respond if you're not gonna read threads that continue on, or understand a person's situation...

I'm almost to New Jersey, 'but someone on the internet said thats dumb you should buy a cruiser so I just quit'.

I went to Toledo to go to bike shop, I need oil cap for my R1. That didn't work out yet so just waste of time going up there..
I just got back to 80, and only a little farther east.

How many of these paranoid accidents you people are thinking of is someone going to walk away from regardless of the handlebars?

Maybe if we made him remove his helmet, installed razor blades all over the handlebars, and then made him run over some spike strips @ 100mph with his brakes dismantled and no bandaids in his first aid kit...then the complaints would make sense

My point earlier was that if you are using handlebars without a brake your hand is 2ft away from your front brake. I didn't say anything about the handle bars being dangerous other than that which is necessary to control your bike are not on the bars. Whatever. Have fun.

Thanks man, this is exactly the point why I've been LOLing at many people's responses.

Here's some update:

I believe these nice rest areas were in Iowa still:

Then yesterday I had an issue, lost my oil cap. Paper towell and piece of a cut plastic bottle cover hole ok for temp.

.. until I got a new Yamaha oil cap this morning, good now

This little town was right outside of Sturges Ohio, awesome little lakefront places!

And currently I'm right near the Ohio PA border!

been cold, 50 degrees plus 80+mph winds on bike, have to break lots warm up and go a little more.
Looks like weather just a little bad in middle of PA. Its up in the air if I'll see a little rain or not
..hey that was a pun
