I've been on a sales trip,
lol @ like the mission
Its not the door knocking I have a problem with, its what I'm preaching! I can sell people, but I won't try to sell 'the gospel'.

I forgive you guys for thinking what you think and your wrong ideas, this is just the internet and I've done a horrible job of representing my 'side' of things.

All I ask is that the wishes in your mind are for my safety more than wanting me to injure/kill myself. I'm set out to embark, and I try to go through every moment with my safety and being careful in the back of my mind..

I wish nothing but the best for you man, I just don't think this is a very good decision.

It's not fun recovering from a serious accident. I know from too much experience...

One day you think you're fine, the next day you have a broken shoulder blade, broken ribs, and a destroyed hand and you realize that maybe you weren't so smart when you made a certain decision...

Those handlebars look like they would, at the very least, destroy some ribs. Broken ribs are not very fun...

Yes, I finally conquered what I had to and got out of Utah! Finally (fri) around noon.

In less than 8 hours I put over 1 gallon of Bondo onto the International Scout and sprayed the paint! Check this transformation:

I loaded up my stuff, saw a little bit of reality and ditched a few things I LOL @ myself I was actually gonna bring. [computer speakers with sub, printer, etc]
I also didn't bring the rear body fairing or rear seat, I'll get those shipped if wanted.
I still over-did it, but its doable for me.

Wind resistance at speed isn't too bad, I saw up to 120mph.
No I haven't wheelied at any time.

300 miles down, pics in Sinclair Wyoming at a truck stop.
I'm happy with my 2 most prized possessions, computer with internet and amazing sportbike.

Bike is badass I painted black to have in NJ. See my handlebars aren't installed, but I brung em

I'm now in Laramie WY at a Howard Johnson

Didn't get internet anywhere yesterday, slept behind a Nebraska rest area last night.

Right on, things happening. I use my laptop running off the bike if needed.

Wyoming is nice in mountainous areas, and everythings turning green right now!

The important thing is, well into Nebraska I finally installed those handlebars.

Holy crap they work so awesome! Def staying on for the rest of trip.

want to read into that, I wrote this last night:
"A little frustrated/tired from being so sore and stopping too often, I put the bars on then drove through a couple tanks of gas! Awesome, they work great and help so much! #1 I cut ‘center’ bar out of middle of bars, allows for full range of movement at any time not hitting my helmet, and you can’t even see or tell extra bars are there if not using! Sitting all the way up (on stock controls) they don't hit my arms, and all the way down with bar at my neck my face is in gauges and wind going over my helmet! #2 Throttle-stick works great, can keep me right at 83mph in 6th gear and engine RPMs are still low not in ‘powerband’ so better on gas. #3 I’m sitting up in the wind, breaking the wind before it hits my high bundle of stuff that my back is resting against. The thing here, I’m able to FEEL winds gusting back and forth different ways almost before they blow the bike, anyway my torso gets blown around while I can actually keep the bike straighter this way instead of being blown back and forth so much."

I've been BATTLING this bike for the drive, that continues but little easier. With a little pressure on the bars, I can steer swerve and maneuver around anything that I could normally when cruising at speed. Any pothole is not a problem.

Iowa rest areas are nice, and first civilized with wi-fi access, but thats sucky and didn't work in the 2 I tried today.

beard was itching my face rubbing my cheeks in helmet for long time. I shaved off at rest stop.

I'm near Des Moines Iowa currently

while I would NEVER use those handle bars, i think it's cool that you're doing your thing, on your own.

best of luck, and please try and be safe.

Don't get overconfident.

Taj you RM you! You sold your soul to APX. I wish i could have talked you out of your decision before you left. Hopefully your experience is better than most. Watch your back because APX is known for screwing people at the END.

those bars look scary along with that mountain on your back. i think i came up with a name for your bars though...the Decapitator. seariously dont get killed with them though. ive had homemaid crap fail at the most inoppertune moments.

anyways good luck and try not to take too many naps on those handlebars
