Ok I have a question for you guys. I found out what was wrong with my transmission today. The differential did break on it but it also has a huge hole going from where the differential is to the area where the clutch is. So basically I have a hole in the case now also and that would explain why my clutch had dings all over the outside and metal pieces everywhere when I drained the transmission out. I got a guy looking at it to let me know if he can repair the case if he can't I'll have to buy a new transmission. My question is though how well will the transmission hold if they do repair that hole or would I be better off with just buying a new one?

If you're at stock ish power levels I dont think it will be an issue, it really all depends on how well he repairs the hole. assuming he does a good job and obviously cleans/rebuilds the rest, then you should be ok. I'd do either an LSD or an insert.. that may just prevent the same thing from happening in the future.
