So... Rerouting around the A/C compressor isn't possible with just a shorter belt ?

5060410 if you do not want to use the tensinoer pulley. (You have to remove the alternator, and use it to create tension)

or, 5060415 to use the stock tensioner pulley (how i did it, but the belt almost touches itself between the two pulleys to get it tight enough, mine are about .5" apart, but have not given me any problems yet, I believe you can use this method to bypass the ac compressor without even removing it, but don't quote me on that one)

thanx a lot guys !! I just need a temp fix until I can get around to replacing the A/C compressor, which has a shakey/bad pulley that vibrates so bad it slings the belt off.

I just cant bring myself to delete my AC, but its about the only thing left in the engine bay that can be deleted.
Its filled with R12, I live in Florida, and it works great, I just cant do it.
how much weight is it all together anyway?
Great write-up BTW

Just a note for anyone who decides to run just the crank pulley and alternator with modified bracket (i.e. removes the tensioner, idler pulley, and a/c compressor) and has swapped the stock pulley for an Unorthodox underdrive pulley, the belt size you are looking for is 378...(i.e. k040378 which is what I'm using, or a k060378 if they make such a thing?) A 375 is too tight and a 380 is too loose...hope this saves someone the trouble I went to of getting 5 different belts until I found one that would work.

Disclaimer: This is on a 91 NA...should be the same for all other models though, unless Unorthodox UD pulleys are different sizes between 91 and 92-99...Also, car isn't running yet, this is just info for tight belt fitment.

Excellent. Thanks for the part #s. I think we've got pretty much every variation of belt routing for A/C deletes now.

For future reference....060380 works well with no AC, the timing belt pulley for tensioning, and an unorthodox underdrive.
