Oh absolutely. I figure I can boost around 18 lbs, I plan on doing at least that no matter what. Unfortunately that's nowhere near the 500whp I'm looking for. Also, a good tune, including the cost of dyno time and such and getting someone down here, well, it's about a grand. Feels like a bit of a waste for 3-4 lbs of boost.

As for the "philosophy of modding" thing, I appreciate the gesture.

The other thing is that I have a triple plate clutch from PitRoadM. In other words, it's like an 800-1000whp clutch, lol. Way overkill, from two owners ago. The idea of a 15G or 19T setup is starting to tug at me. Then again, I'll actually have to buy TD04 headers, ugh. That would be emasculating. Not to mention I'll barely break even from selling the 16G kit and buying 19T's, and that just doesn't seem right, economically.

Imho keep your 16gs there is no reason to sell them to down size if you already have them and all the supporting mods. Especially since the turbo kit is already used. Turn up the boost, install a meth kit, get a good safe street tune and have fun with it till you want to put the stroker in it.

You're doing the right thing. Don't sell what you have to go backwards(15g's).

At 18-22 psi and a solid tune, you might be surprised.

I was under the impression that he was stock and just had the crap laying around.. : shrug : Reading comp owns me I guess (stopped reading at stock engine) , but honestly I am spending money more conservatively nowadays and the idea of upgrading that much = nuts to me. Stock is good, just a little more than stock is better, 700-1000whp = shit is going to break a lot.. : shrug :

You are actually doing it right, what I was saying only applies to someone that is currently stock.

So a good tune at 22 psi, I shouldn't have to worry about the pistons?

Naw, Audible, I know that you know what you're talking about; you've been there, done that. I appreciate the advice. In a sense it is all "laying around" (at least the turbo kit is) since right now my car is taken apart down to the longblock, heh. I could conceivably sell the turbos (though I'd have to do it fast) while they're off the car.

The rest of the stuff is on the car already, and that stuff's staying. I guess mainly the only hitch really is that I am worried about trying to push the car with stock pistons a little too far, and blowing my shit up.

Put it back together, tune it, enjoy it.... Don't spend anymore money Your car should decimate 3/4's of the crap you'll find around if it is tuned properly You have plenty of power, you just need a tune. Jeremy is 100% right, your car has much room to grow.

I have pretty much the exact same setup as you and I run 20lbs of boost on god awful California 91 octane.

I am AEM also + all the supporting mods, etc etc.

Edit: And I made 440awhp a few months ago on the dyno at 108* in the dyno facility. No meth injection or any of that. Plain old "premium" pump.
