I've got a 1995 NA Hybrid OBD year DOHC
I have Shiver's 1.0B release of the datalogger for my car (specifically the hybrid year logger). I was just logging and looking at certain things and noticed that the rear O2 has zero volts. Is this normal? Or does it mean my rear O2 is out? or wire short? Does anyone know of the hybrid logger wigging out on the O2 voltages? I've always thought it was pretty reliable, but just checking to make sure. How many O2 sensors do I have? Also, I noticed the exhaust smells really rich and whenever I go to set the basic idle the idle RPMs are ALWAYS about 200 RPM higher on the gauge than on the logger itself. Whats going on here? I swear the car sounds like its idling at the right RPMs and that the gauge is wrong, but how could the gauge be wrong? I've adjusted the throttle cable and installed a rebuilt TB and everything is adjusted right. I made sure it all reported accurately while hot and running. I took 2 logs of my idling too if anyone is interested. I don't have a clue what I'd be looking at, but I can learn. WHERE IS CBATTERS WHEN I NEED HIM !!!!!?!?!?!

Do you know that for sure or you just sayin it sounds that way? LOL - I was just asking cause maybe that O2 in the rear isn't supposed to kick in till I'm cruising or something whereas I did my logging in PARK at idle and revving at times.
You know the kooKie thing about the logs I made is that when I put them in the translator the front and rear O2 results showed up in reverse in the logs. I'm positive it was the REAR as I was watching it log it and it shows in the logs as the FRONT which is not correct unless either the log translator or the logger swapped'em around and I don't know which data is for what O2 sensor?!?!)(% ![]() |

Not sure on hybrids, at least 2, maybe more. Normal stock gauge. Just make sure you don't have the logger set for a faster ECU. |

The RPMs are supposidly linear in their equation, but that does not seem to be the case. It does seem that below 1000 rpms the logger is off by a bit, the gauge will be correct.
Try swapping o2 sensors and then see if it's still 0 volts. Also try to download the 1.0c beta version on the website to see if that fixes the issue.

Hybrids have two O2 sensors. (front and rear).
Sounds like your rear one is bad, should cycle at idle. My Gauge and logger match so I don't know why yours is off, has anyone ever removed the needle for anything like a white face gauge? Anyway I wouldn't worry about it going off I would be more concerned about your O2. Get that replaced it can cause problems and foul out your plugs.

Pretty sure all years of DOHC have O2 sensors on each bank. Strong smell of fuel and poor mileage are consistent with defective O2 sensor or bad harness from O2 sensor.
You can determine which sesnor is not working (for sure) by unplugging the oxygen sensor connector which is easily accessible front/center of the engine. Check wih Shiver - pretty sure there was a bug in at least one of the versions of his SW that caused it to read high. If engine ius warm, AC off and ISC count is between 1 and 25 counts (indicating the ECU is in control of the idle speed) the RPM should read 700. Clint

I have probably driven about 1000 miles or so since I put in new Denso Iridium spark plugs.. do you think the plugs could be messed up in that short of a distance from the O2 being bad? |
