Default Mini Pocket Rocket Bikes

Anyone ever seen one of these bikes on the road. They look funny as hell and im thinking about getting one to dick around on. You can find them at minipocketrockets.com and there are quite a few to pick from. The only thing im not sure of is are they legal to drive on the road and do you need to title or insure them. They have a 49cc version and a 110cc. Anyone own one of these or have any experiences with them. Thanks.

I don't know about MI, but where I live anything driven on the road, 49cc's and up, must be tagged, licensed and insured. And we have to have a motorcycle endorsement on our driver license. They've actually been running commercials here about this because of so many people buying sccoters(due to gas prices).

I am probuly the only one on this entire forum when it comes down to this thread and pocket bikes, I have owned over 36 pocket bikes. First note never buy one from Minipocketrockets.com they charge you 40% more and then hit you with shipping fees. If you want to go with a bike just to mess around on then I reccomend a 47cc or 49cc cag half or full fairing bike(links posted at the bottom of the page). These 2 bikes you can get on ebay as low as $209 shipped. As for the law in Michigan there is none, It is considered a scooter if it is under 49cc. You do not have to have it registered if you get stoped you comment that it is a scooter and under 49cc's is ok. I lived in Ann Arbor Michigan for 17 years and have had no problems. As for if you are looking for something a little bigger you could go with the popular x1 or x2 series bike which is bigger but 49cc w/ head lights, blinkers, and break lights, Dont forget the horn. But if your looking or thinking about going bigger and faster (do note all the bikes above I am talking about are chinese) Anyways Bigger and faster your going to want a x17,x18 or 19 there is also the x22, Now the x17 is manual and automatic so you pick, has head lights/blinkers/horn/break lights, the x18 is manual only and has the same assesories as listed. The x19 is automatic only and has both high and low beams, Blinkers, break lights and horn. Then the x22 is only automatic and I believe is a higher quality bike, I had only 1 but never had a problem with it no broken parts etc. Also all these x17,x18,x19,x22 are all 110cc. These are roughly the same size as a full size bike minus the weight and about 6-8 inchs in seat hight. Next on the road is the r22 or the phoniex is a 125cc full scale bike has manual only and goes about 70mph very nice bike, They have a bigger bigger also consider a super pocket bike is there 200cc pocket bike still the r22 but in the series. These are around $1500 so I wouldnt consider buying them just buy a real bike!!!!

Oh also If you want to know about the good good italian pocket bikes like grc mini moto, or polini, or blata usa and your looking to spend a minimum of $1000 let me know I will be more than glad to tell you more.

Here are some good deals on bikes and here are what the pictures look like Hope you find what you are looking for!

I couldn't resist. I have one of these that I put a sissy bar on:

I've always wanted to get one of these and mount it on the sissy bar, sort of a motorbike equivalent of a continental kit for cars:

I just called or state police post here in bay city and they thought if it was smaller than 50cc it was considered a scooter. What this means is no helmet is required and no insurance. It must be registered which I called on and it was only $15 for 3 years. As for an endorsment....im not positive but I wouldnt think you would need one. Im planning on getting pulled over alot cause it sounds like a gray area when you ask numerous people. Everyone has their own ideas on what the laws are supposed to be.

I just bought mine from minipocketrockets.com. It was $40 more than the same bike from another website but had a 60 day warranty compared to the others 30 day. Shipping added $67 bringing my total to $466 for the x7 bullet bike.
