Purchased this 1999 SOHC rust bucket for $1200 a while back.

I'll start it off with just a few pictures and walkaround video (after i spent a dozen hours cleaning it), I've got a bazillion more but feel like being lazy right now.

Let the flaming begin. Short term goal is a modest pump gas 600whp after i build my mild twin turbo setup.

How I got the car...barely running, all broken, all rusty, all beat up, torn seats, smelly, etc.

No those are the more expensive of the ebay ones, VERY happy with how they turned out. This pearl white was definitely more of a matte white when i got it lol. Thanks!

Yes that's an LS motor (well, technically an LQ).

that looks like a nice project. I see that you tied into the stock trans and driver side mount locations. looks like progress. Are you going to mount a vr4 subframe in the back? What trans are you going to run? Have you test fitted the trans yet?

Is this legit? I mean you said you were going to go with a TT setup and now we're seeing an lq in there? That's awesome, I'm definitely in to see progress.

I too want to see this become rear wheel or all wheel drive.

LSX solution really sounds economical when you think about it.

haha that is ironic that there everybody who posted has a white car!

It is not tied into the stock mounts, new mounts were fabbed up on the frame rails. The motor and transmission are completely mounted and ready. I debated going T56 but I have never ran a manual valve body built auto, so I went with the monstrous 4l80e (should work well with my setup). It is a RWD setup, driveshaft will be made locally.

As for the legit tt question....yes it will be twin turbocharged as well

time for rust removal....ugh what a nightmare grinding it all away, patching it all up, and then spraying over it with underliner stuff. Spots all over the car, some as you can see were very bad.






More progress on engine bay and trans tunnel

The engine looks like its way to low, unless you haven not give it the correct height.
What rear you have in mind Ford 8.8 or a 9inch? and I assume you will be using a ladder bar setup unless you plan to hack the rear for a full 4 link.
