Price should be under $300. As for vibration we'll find out but I imagine it being better than solids and on par with most other poly's. These should be a decent amount lighter than normal polys just because they're not the stock design.

BRG should be the the main test trip with them so you'll get to hear them in person.

Don't mean to rain on your parade Terry, and I like the fact that you're trying something innovative, but I'll come right out and voice some concerns over the design.

I don't like the idea that there is a compressible material governing the bolt stretch of the mounting bolts. As most of us DIY wrenchers should be aware by now, the purpose of torque specs for a specific bolt is actually to approximate the proper bolt stretch needed for the fastener to clamp the 2 pieces together. By placing a compressible substance (the poly) between the interfacing parts, you change this bolts stretch, and even if the bolts are stretched properly (by torquing at higher than spec ft-lbs), there is still the potential of the compressible substance losing it's resilience over time and thus creating slack = loosening bolts.

So you put the poly in between the motor mount and the area that the motor mount will bolt to. and you think that part is going to flex? Either i am way off base here or this is in fact a design that is obviously not going to work. Does anyone else understand what i am getting at? If that motor mount is bolted down like stock i don't see how it could possibly flex even if you had a slab of the softest poly/rubber. all that poly is going to do is getting smashed flat... thats it. In order for this design to work you would need to leave the bolts really loose. I am not trying to bash it is just that this seems so obvious to me.

This was my initial reaction when I saw that picture, too. I suppose you could apply loctite to the bolts, but then that's just a whole other mess of problems when it comes to removing the mounts.

First off that's the main thing I'm testing. I may change it around a bit to solve that issue (have a few ideas on how to do that).

With that said I'm going with a harder poly so there isn't that much give to it however with it not being solid it will still absorb some vibrations. High grade poly shouldn't break down and permanently lose it's form either but again I'm going to put a decent amount of miles on these things to make sure.

I was a little hesitant to post this just since this is a somewhat rough plan however there are plenty of other hype threads floating around so I figured I would join in just to let you guys know I'm working on something.

I do appreciate the suggestions though.

Terry
