i would love to have one, but i can't see modding it. that'd be like buying the "Mona Lisa" and painting over it to make it 'better'

it's may not be the fastest thing on the block anymore, but it isn't THAT slow out of the box. i think it could still put a smile on your face to take one for a spin

hell i dont think chevy even makes bearings for this motor anymore (lt5)

I think the only reason people say Northstars are hard to work on is because the vast majority of them are tranverse mounted in FWD Cadillacs. The Northstar is the direct descendant of the LT5. And doesn't have much aftermarket support. Still, I agree with the others, I wouldn't buy an old ZR-1 to mod heavily, its better off as a stock collector's item IMO. IF you want power I'd just get the cheapest regular Vette I could stand and build an LSX from scratch.
