The weight balance is near 50/50, but I was really unimpressed by the performance increase. If anything, the car felt a little bit heavier.

Really now? i always thought putting an engine outside your wheel base would cause handling issues!

Well, there's a transmission in the blue bin in front of the wheels. I think the added weight there helped.

I'm sure spreading out the weight of the engine by spreading out the parts, has bound to help the balance and feel.

if you got a longer timing belt you could have the block where the back seat should be and the heads evenly spaced in the trunk area that should give an almost perfect balance
