Is your cat licking your car? Haha, it has good taste in vehicles too I see.
Yup, haha
That was my cat Tony. He was actually finally healing up from a run in with a coyote in this picture and really skinny.
He used to be 19lbs of pure muscle. Unfortunately we started letting him back outside about a month after this was taken. A few weeks later we never saw him again. At the same time about 5 other cats in the neighborhood went missing so we are thinking the coyotes got him again, only this time he wasn't strong enough to fight back.
I got sent a link to this thread. There are some very nice garages here. If you're interested in going right through the looking glass of garage possibilities, there's a forum called Garage Journal which will eat up many, many hours of your life -- but in a way that's very much worth it.
I have a small, two-car garage. But I've turned it into a pretty pleasant place to work. It was put together on a budget, less than $3,500 for the whole deal, from flooring to benches and cabinets to the submerged hydraulic lift. The trade-off was that a lot of my own sweat (and time) went into it. But then, that's part of what I like about having a garage -- it gives me the opportunity to spend a lot of time doing the things I like.
Sorry to say, I don't have a Mitsubishi. Instead, I've got a 41-year-old 911.
There is no car that's been lowered too much to fit on this lift. And there's nothing to trip over when the car is out.
Is it always this clean? No. Not by a long shot.
But it does go back to clean very quickly -- that's the real accomplishment of it, I think. I finally took the time to work out a place for everything to go when It's not being used.
In practice, it makes a huge difference not having to spend so much time looking for things you've misplaced. I spent years doing that.
Thanks. I'm in Los Angeles in a house that was built in 1925, which means two of the garage walls are right up on the property line of my tiny plot of land. But you make do with what you've got.
I'm not sure if the site will let me post this, but here's a video about both the car and the garage that was done a few weeks ago by a web site called Petrolicious.

Saw this video not to long ago. I'm visiting the bay area for a couple weeks and knew you were in CA. One day I would love to visit your garage and the singer shop.
Your work on both your car and garage is an inspiration to me and I'm sure many others. I have followed the 12 guage garage for some time on the garage journal fourm. Truly a priceless piece of work! I hope you continue to contribute to 3si. Thanks for sharing!!
Sweet Jesus...You guys have amazing garages. I still live with my parents, and our garage is like a 2.5 car garage, but since my dad's a diesel mechanic, no.1: There's almost always something taking up the main space in there and no.2: He isn't the greatest at keeping it clean so there is shit EVERYWHERE. Haha. So needless to say my Stealth is almost never in the garage. Here's what it looks like when I'm fortunate enough to get it in there:
However, this thread is a motivational one for me. My girlfriend and I have been looking for houses for a while now, and this is just getting me pumped for when we finally find one. My Stealth will finally have a garage it can stay in all the time.
