man thats a tough thing to read. its always a tough fight, and many people have died, and many have survived. I know that you worry about your kids, and if anything let it be your motivation to keep going. the people that done deserve things like this are the ones who suffer the most. just keep yur head up, and keep trying. I dont know you, but i know what it feels like to lose someone close to cancer, and i know what it is like to watch them suffer and fade. but i also know what it is like to see how their lives change and how much of a better time they had with the ones they loved. when you beat this thing, youwill have a new type of relationship with your family and friends.
i know i wont forget your bday. its the same as mine happy birth day

Thank you to everyone for the kinds words. The birthday today was different to say the least as I have never been given chemo on my birthday LOL. I did have a good b-day though...Tonya, my wife hooked me up with a new pair of Oakleys that happened to be limited edition Livestrong Flaks. Ask the StL crew and they can tell you my hangup for Oakleys and the ridiculous number of pair that I have haha. These are sweet because they match my car...this should be the little detail that pushes car show trophies to me next year haha.
It was so good meeting so many people at the NG, some I had never met and several old faces that I haven't seen in a while. It was bittersweet because there were a lot of people that I hoped to run into again (cough cough cough cough hahahaha).
An update on the cancer front. I am wrapping up radiation on my arm tomorrow and then going to get a bone scan on my shoulder to see if the pain my shoulder is from a bone metastises or just a pulled muscle (muscular atrophy from babying that arm). I am on a new type of chemo...iranotecan and cetuxemab. This is what I was on over the NG. It's weird in comparison to the other FOFLOX chemo I was on. For example, I had it today and will be fine tomorrow but Saturday, I will start getting sick. This is a catch 22 sort of. It enables me to just miss one day of work at the office a week but I pretty much lose my weekends. It's cyclacle over three weeks with the first week being strong and really making me feel like pooh, the second week not as strong (what I was on over the NG) and the third week just antibodies. I don't really get as sick as I did with the FOFLOX so that's good.
In a nutshell, I'm still battling this bastard. Once again, I appreciate all of the words of encouragement and the hugs and hand shakes at the NG meant the world to me. Phillip Glazatov, the ride alongs absolutely made my week at the NG...truly phenomenal. Everyone that helped with everything...truly from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much.
