One big factor is HP to Weight Ratio. 300HP VR4 vs. 300HP Honda = Honda Wins. VR4 will always get the jump off the line, but the Honda will be faster because its so light. It is almost like asking will a 300HP VR4 beat a 300HP street Bike....Um no.
