Default Insurance Companies

...are tricky little bastards. When I made the claim, the company saw that they had made an error on our policy and are now going to charge us $200/month for the next 8 months.

Apparently I was still listed as a part time driver, which you're only allowed to be when you're in high school. AKA until you're 18. Well, let's see... I started driving at 16 and was on the policy since then, and I'm 20 now, so I guess I've been 18 for two years? You'd think they would have some sort of ingenious way of preventing this like.. ohh... I don't know.. someone working there with an IQ over 80?

"Whoops, we made a mistake. Here's the bill"

tell them to go fuck themselves and find another one.
after my PARKED CAR got hit, my insurance doubled with my last company. I used to pay like 500 every six months it went up to just under a grand.
told them to fuck off and cancelled and found a better company for the same price. I love geico.

Time to get some quotes from other places.

Also look through the policy and find any relevant mid-policy term price hike sections. Insurance companies often don't like following their own rules, and often get away with it.

well the way you said it i gonna assume that your talking about your parents, they probably think that your just gonna suck it up and stick with that policy regardless of your rate hike? Do you pay for it or do your parents? if you pay for it yourself just shop around, as long as you have a good record you will be able to find a lower rate.
