After installing coilovers on my 92 vr4, i have them set pretty low, there is only about an inch between the tire and the fender.. anyways when one wheel is pointing strait, the other one is pointing in towards the engine, and so of course when i go to drive it the steering is all weird.. did i do something wrong?

Low and Slow

No lowering a car can mess with the tow and the camber. It will also mess up your front to rear alighnment. If you don't have rear camber arms yet I suggest you get a pair. Their is no rear camber adjustment on a VR-4 and if you have it alighned and they say they couldn't get the rear wheels in due to negative camber you will have to buy the arms and have to pay them again because they will not waranty the first alighnment after you installed a new part. Take it to the local tire dealer and tell them you need a four wheel alighnment when you are ready. FYI:The longer you run your car with bad alighnment the faster you will wear your tires out.

1. Any time you lower a car you need to get an alignment.
2. There is camber adjustment, but lowering the car 1" or more you typically do not have enough adjustment to get into spec. Buy rear camber arms. 3. check out nw3s.net ![]()

Low and Slow

I'm at 1 13/16" all the way around and the amount lowered is a matter of personal opinion. I couldn't go any lower because of practicality due to speed humps coming into work. As long as you always remember how low you are and slow your speed accordingly you shouldn't have a problem. Remember to stay slow or it will feel like you ripped you bumper off!!!

Well here is the thing.. i had lowering springs already on there, i think 1.5" lower and i didn't really have any problems, and now i put the coil overs and lowered it a little more and the wheels are so far off its not drivable, i mean one wheel is clearly pointing in a different direction of the other one.. ill try putting it up higher today and see what happens, thanks guys

No, i do understand that, but i was just asking how when i lowered the car with springs it was driving fine, it might have needed an alignment but the wheels looked strait and drove fine, now that i installed coilovers its not driveable, and the wheels are all kinds of screwed, so i was asking if maybe i did something wrong

not to mention. an alignment will not cost a whole lot. it wont take very long either.
its routine maintenance. get it aligned
