Default Ideas?

Ok this is my first time posting but i recently bought a 91 vr4 and the power steering has never worked and i never found any leaks so i figured it was the pump but i just put a new pump in and it still doesnt work! It steers fine other than there is no power steering at all. Does anyone know why this could be im starting to get a little dissapointed.

These cars have really tight steering to be honest. If I where you I'd take it to the dealership pay them to tell you what the prab is and fix it yourself. Just tell them after they tell you the prab that you gotta save up to have it fixed. You should get out of there knowing your prab for less than $100 bucks

Those cars are really heavy..... When the car is running but not moving, can you turn the wheels or not? Unless you're a behemoth, you shouldn't be able to move them. If you can and it's difficult but not utterly impossible, then you have power steering, it's just not as comfy as American cars or some other makes.

I'd just try turning the wheel with the engine off while the car is sitting still and then turn the wheel with the engine running while the car is sitting still. There should be a very noticeable difference in the amount of force that it takes to turn the steering wheel. If there isn't much difference then something isn't working properly.

Are you kidding me? Mine doesn't have my ps belt on right now and I can't crank it, but when it did have it on it was pretty much effortless. Yours might be messed up too.

1. I don't own one of these, my boy does and I don't really like it.
2. I freaking weigh 125 lbs. Anything short of effortless sucks for me.
