Default I little confused?

I have a 1992 SL FWD and it needs a motor. Looking to buy a 1995 motor that is coming with a clutch. Will the 1995 motor bolt right up to the 1992 transmission? Will the clutch work as well? I have been told it would and i have read that the transmissions are different? Thanks

this is a question for the "new owners" section. there is a lot more to it than the tranny. the tranny will work fine. its the engineyou need to worry about. a 95 engine is not a drop in replacement for a 92. use the search feature. please save us the headache. no offense. but this question has been asked so many times.

Clutch will work, transmission will work. The 95 motor has a cam angle sensor and a crank angle sensor. Your 92 motor only has a cam angle sensor. So either you need to wire in the crank angle sensor or get a wiring harness out of a 95 and possibly the ecu also not sure about that part.

yes. ecu as well.and by "wire in" the crank sensor you need to wire it all the way back to the ecu. and the ecu needs to be second gen.

I know about the sensors. Can't I take the old cas off the 92 and put it on the 95 and use it with just the CAS or do I need both. I just need the cas off the old engine to run the 1995 with 1992 ecu right?
