FWD and AWD are interchangable.


yes you lost the slave. its possible the rubber flext hose ruptured but the slave is more common.

Funny, that just happened to my ES last week.
First stop, checked the reservoir. Hmmm.... pretty empty.
Looked around the master, pretty dry.
Peeked under the intake hose at the slave, there's my fluid all over the bell housing.
New slave from the local Car Quest - $41.25 They had to order it, came in the next day around 9:00 am. Took < an hour to put in, not too bad of a job on an NA anyway. For some reason they did list different parts for the FWD and the AWD.

Rebuild kit for the slave is really cheap and really simple to do.

Most def the slave cyl or the clutch line. I'd replace both while you're in there anyway

more likely than not youll be doing it once a year too. i did 4 rebuild kits (the bore was visually ok) and finally said screw it and bought a new slave.

Mine has held fine for several years now. Either one of ours might be the exception.
