Could you possibly PM a price for your work. I have a hookup on the rear subframes as I believe it is who you are buying them all from (Tom Davis).
if his name is Thomis here on 3si, then yes. that is who James got the rear end from. he has been great with shipping out some other last minute part requests quickly. i charge $800 for labor to do the AWD conversion you see above.

having 3 AWD conversions under my belt now, it dosent seem hard anymore, just extremely tedious and nasty with all the metal work involved. did he see my other two AWD conversion threads? loads of info in them.

We all know work aint for free
for labor i charged him $1500 for the TT swap and AWD install. thats a hell of a deal for the amount of work involved.

Anyway, if you have issues with false knock, it looks like the downpipe is pressed up against the t-case bracket. That may or may not be a source of noise that the knock sensor picks up.
thanks for the good words Adam! i didn't kill myself doing this conversion, i'd say i averaged 5-6 hour days. so about 60 hours or so. good eye you have, the DP is indeed contacting the bracket, enough that it will not seal on the rear precat (it has an 1/8 of an inch gap) the bracket will get trimmed when the o2 bungs get welded on the DP.

I personally spent roughly 30 hours grinding, sanding, cleaning, painting. I had my buddy grind out a little groove in the T-case bracket and now it fits like a glove. ill post some pictures later tonight or tomorrow when i get the car back in the air.

Final cost? Would you say that you'd have been better off buying a VR4 or are you satisfied? Oh do you have AWS or no? I didn't notice it earlier.

WoW!! Im impressed.. my car needs to be added to your to do list now. I cant believe how well that car cleaned up, and with the AWD, major major bonus! GREAT JOB Evan.

Final cost after all the aftermarket parts, stock parts, shipping, paint, motor, transmission, etc... labor and unforeseen cost ran me roughly 10K+ easy.
Would i have been better off buying a VR-4? ABSOLUTELY. Did i want a VR-4? NO, im very satisfied with what was done. My motor has just over 54,xxx original documented miles right now and runs and sounds like a dream. Best part is that my insurance is still only $103 a month!
No AWS.
I love my base and wouldn't trade it for the world. This was something i have been wanting and saving up to do for 4 years.

My 94 Base and 92 Stealth RT cost more to insure than my 93 VR4 and my 97 VR4...true story.
Insurance here tends to be cheaper on TT's The folks that complain about it being higher on TT's are usually under 25 years old anyway I asked my insurer why this was so.. Apparently once you hit 25 it kinda flip flops and TT models (at least here) are cheaper due to the AWD, Airbags, Security, etc. When you are under 25 they consider you a higher risk and thus a TT = more to insure.
I'm so very happy for you. Nothing beats having YOUR car the way you've always wanted it. You must have a serious shit eatin' grin everytime you sit in her now eh?

Congratulations! I understand you not wanting to part with the car.
Evan, What can I say...I’m a fan of your work. Also I would like to congratulate you on your new shop. Now where’s the lift? LOL
Now I just need your paypal so I can buy a pair of those bolt/nut things you had the machine shop make. (I’m serious BTW)
