I don't know if anyone posted on this, but its interesting...
It'll be a reality soon enough, one way or another, theres way too many people coming up with new things every week it seems. Butch

So has anyone tried it yet?
Based on that video it would allow greater boost without leaning. Well going a bit lean would not affect the engine. As well changing the timing would help get more power as well. I'll try it on my POS jeep eventually.

I'm a very skeptical guy, but I think this has merit.
Many of the implementers report good results, 30% range, and many of the 'no go' testers are short cutting the design and install. If the generator can put out 2-3 liters per minite, it appears to be enough to get the enhanced burn character. This seems to be faster burn so more power is extracted during power stoke, yet more time after the burn to cool exhaust. Not at all sure how it will work on turbo, but I am going to try it on my NA first, then if good result, on the TT. I saw a you-tube regarding a Stealt NA owner who implemented the HHO generator with good result. That gave me some hint that our motors may be ok, without knock problems. The discussions say HHO will not cause knock, but I was reluctant to take that at face value. Search 'HHO mileage stealth', I could not get to it from my work machine, site restricted. The NASA experiments briefly mentioned enhanced burn in lean conditions, but I have not found details like HHO to air to fuel ratios, and engine compression during their tests.

I am starting to lean towards having a carbon fiber tank in my hatch with the hydrogen in it similar to the above video, and perhaps have the electrolysis to refill the tank. Or setup solar panels to do it in my garage to fill a tank there to create my own. I do believe that you can get better gas milage from just the electrolysis setup but I think to gain the maximum amount hydrogen to have enough to fire the spark when the engine is at top dead center you need a larger amount of hydrogen. |

I don't think you need that much. How much gasoline gets pumped into the cylinder on each stroke. Not much at all, so why would we need al ot more hydrogen, especially if its more cobustable then gasoline?

8503.4cc/sec of fuel On a very efficient Electrolysis setup 17cc/sec of Hydrogen/oxygen mix because it isnt pure hydrogen I think that the electrolysis setups will help gas mileage I am just saying if you wanted maximum power it would be better to have an on board supply as well. I am constantly looking for new designs though I would probably install a multi cell setup with an alternator running off the drive shaft or added to the pulley system. I realize that there would be some power loss because of the pulley but it would create a much larger supply of hydrogen. This setup seems to be very efficient the spiral setup is best for surface area, and the rounded edges help detach the bubbles which insulate the metal from the reaction. would be really good with a ultrasonic setup as well to break the bubbles Last edited by DANTHEVR4MAN : 07-04-2008 at 10:38 AM. |
