it's been said before and i'll say it again.
the stealth wing is the one of the most unique, aerodynamic, and functional stock spoilers ever made. the only thing that could have made it even better, would have been to mold it into the rear sails...something like what the talon had. and i agree, the 96 stealth wing....DAMN sexy. |

lmfao! unique? i a flattened out big banana and bolt it to a trunk lid could be called unique (or fugly!)
aerodynamic? i wouldnt say quite as aerodynamic as no wing there to drag a boomarang in the air behind me lol functional? still cant quite figure out the functionality of a wing on the rear of a front wheel drive car you do have a point though, that big goofy talon wing. lol looks like a big push mower handle to push the car back home with after you break down ![]()

The Stealth wing is directly above the two rear wheels.

that's what the front air dam is for.
and don't think that just because you're fwd doesn't mean you won't get any benefit from having a spoiler on the rear. downforce on the back simply helps to correct oversteer at high speeds. (think about it, downforce keeps the back from losing grip and sliding out.) the stealth wing isn't as aerodynamic as no-wing? i'll have to see the wind tunnel tests on that. and the spoiler isn't primarily to aid in aerodynamics, it's there for downforce. any nascar gear-head can tell you that a properly formed spoiler will help in the car's slipstream. without a spoiler, the ideal aerodynamic shape would have the car with a VERY long, tapering rear-end. |

oh sorry, i didnt know 3S's were built from the factory to be ran in nascar
![]() i understand the point of aerodynamics and down force and all that. I just find it a little amusing when for one of the fugliest and dumbest looking wings ever put on a car is justified with all the arguements for handling, downforce, etc. when maybe 1% of the cars will be pushed to those limits to actually utilize any aspects of it. and at that point, the wing is so wobbly & shaky it would probably rip off the car after a little time at those limits lol. one personally likes the look & style of the wings, totally respect that. justified for nascar style handling? eh kinda doubt it :hh: :tu: |

no-one ever said a 3/s was built to run nascar. any 3/s lover knows that it would have PWND the competition anyways.
![]() that same argument about FUGLY can be used for every instance of a spoiler on every car with 4-doors--including the evo; none of them will ever justify the need for it. you think it's "fugly". fine. that's your opinion. you're not alone in it. i happen to think it's unique and creative--yet more functional than the "bandstand" style aluminum aftermarket spoilers that you see on every rice rocket--let alone the "eclipse like" hoop on the 97-99's. i'm not alone in my opinion either. and i never said it handled like "nascar". pull your head out of your ass and read it again. i was IMPLYING that even the dumbest of racing fans knows that THE SPOILER can improve slipstream AND downforce. |

Because they are stupid. '96 banana is best 3/S wing hands down.
