Arrow Hood Pins w/ Fiberglass Hood??

I might be getting a fiberglass hood for my 93' VR4 and I was wondering, are hood pins needed like they are with carbon fiber hoods?

yep make sure to get them. they are really light and you dont want any wind to get under it and make your hood fly up and break off at highway speeds it would put a nice big dent on your roof lol

Call me crazy, but I've been running my FG hood without them for a few years... including several 100+mph runs (up to 150) and daily 80+mph trips on horribly bumpy freeways. So far so good

But to be safe, don't try this at home. I just don't like the way hoodpins interrupt the cleanness of the car. And my latch seems to be working well.

my hood started bowing a little at high speed and i decided to get pins. better safe then sorry i guess. i still can't stand them though.

i guess if you're worried about looks, you can always get the aero latch ones.

HilbillyHomeboy is correct. While pulling my car on the trailer, I could see (in my rearview mirrow from the tow vehicle) my drivers side front hood lifting up
a quarter inch or so. I had to adjust my Areo Latch stud down several turns.
That took care of my lifting issue. That just proved to me the pins are a must.
