Default holset turbo?

I plan on using a holset HX35 or HX40 for my single setup but I can't find anywhere what kind of HP they support, the only thing they show is what a diesel will make with them so I would like to know what both turbo's will produce

thanks

Kyle

I'm running a HX40 on mine But the engine needs to be put in.

I hear only good things about the 35 in the DSM community, and my buddy has a 35 in his dizzum and he smokes z06 and smokes all fours.

the 40 is suppose to be able to create 650awhp on a dsm.

there is a member (napa) that has a few vids of the 40 on an engine dyno.

thanks, if an HX40 can make that much power then I'm not that interested in it since my HP goals are low (450-500 awhp), I figure the HX35 should get me my goals and not have too much lag

The HX turbos is a very common turbo here in sweden and ppl use anything from hx35 to hx60.
I would NOT recommend using a HX35 above 400awhp, its too small. you should definitely go with the hx40 if you are aiming for 450-500awhp.
Simply measure the compressor inducer and you will see...

Iam using a pair of holset hx35 by the way.

Ricer: from the latin word Ricarius meaning to suck at everything you attempt

A person who makes unnecessary modifications to their most often import car (hence the term "rice") to make it (mostly make it look) faster. The most common modifications are (but not limited to):

- Huge exhaust that serves no purpose but to make the car louder
- Large spoiler on the back that looks like something Boeing made for the 747
- Lots of after-market company stickers they don't have parts from, but must be cool
- Expensive rims that usually cost more than the car itself
- Body kit to make the car appear lower, usually accented with chicken wire
- Clear tail lights and corner signals
- A "performance intake"- a tube that feeds cold air to their engine usually located in areas of excessive heat (behind or on top of the engine)
- Most of these riced cars (a.k.a. rice rockets or rice burners) are imports; Honda Civics, Accords, Integras, CRXs, RSXs, Del Sols Mitsubishi Eclipses, Lancers, Subaru Imprezas, however there are some domestics such as Chevrolet Caviliers, Dodge Neons, Ford Focus; small, slow, economy cars designed specifically to go slow. Please note that some 3000gt's Supras, Skylines, WRX's and other higher performance imports are designed to go fast, and are therefore not always considered rice, but it really depends on the severity of the case.

Thats a nice calculator.. try 650awhp (750-800hp) on a HX35 and see how far off you'll be in the compressor map =) the dots wont even be visible...

Yes twin hx35, i havent really had the chance to test them enough.. ive only gone to about 21 psi with many boost/vakum-leaks.. but they are fixed now.

With the leaks and a bad/(slow respons) vakum hose routing to the wastegates i had about 1 bar at 5500. When i start her up the next time i will be using my electric boost solenoid to keep the wg shut until i have full boost.
(i have exhaust housing #12cm2)

I heavent heard many other big twin setups IRL so i dont know about the sound.. heres a vid with short 3" sidepipes and race cams
(expect a dark video with no action )

How does a singel hx40 perform? i guess the respons is REALLY good?
What exhaust housing do you use?
