Question Highbeam / Flash problem, please help!

Hey guys,

My highbeams are completely out. When I pull the stick, the lights go off completely, but low beams work just fine.
Before that problem, I couldn't flash the highbeams with the lowbeams on, but could if the lights were not in the "UP" position.

Any ideas? Please help!

It's a 91 VR-4 if that helps.

Thanks in advance for your help.

judging by the fact your a new user I'm assuming his car is mostly stock.

Might the harnass be loose? and when it pops up the last tab doesnt make good contact. Are any fuses out?

Could it be possible theres a short or a corroded contact somewhere in the light switch stalk.

Unless you have GTO flashers there shouldnt be a reason your high beams work down rather than up.

Haha, just cuz I'm a new user my car must be stock? Ok, it was a correct assumption this time, but I've been a 3000GT SL & VR-4 owner for going on 10 years now! I had the 94 SL for 2, then traded it for the 91 VR-4 8 years ago.

I'll find out where the fuses are (I'm a jet mechanic by trade, not a car one) and have a look. Question though, where are the tabs that you are talking about? I'm sure somewhere around the light assembly, but what exactly am I looking for?
Thanks again guys!
