Default hey... check out my $1572 purchase!

purchase cost: $1250
title, taxes, fees etc: $172
flatbed towing to my shop: $150
93 dodge stealth twin turbo: priceless!

alright, seriously not priceless but still pretty pleased with the whole situation

found the car on craigslist, got into negotiations last week and purchased it this morning. kid i purchased it from stated he purchased the vehicle with bad compression on 2 out of 3 cylinders on the front bank. he broke down the motor, put main bearings and rings in it and rebuilt. states the timing is good and vehicle has spark and fuel but does not run. timing on front bank appears good but i didn't dig into it at all yet.

i'm thinking when he did the timing on it he didn't set the crankshaft position sensor plate behind the crank sprocket, but i'll know more as i dig into it over the next week or so. so many possibilities...

at any rate, car is missing ac compressor, alternator, ps pump and intake box. paint is pretty thrashed on the front bumper, hood and rear gate and the right rear quarter has a pullable dent. many things are disconnected, including hydraulic clutch line, exhaust, intercooler piping and sensors but everything else appears present, trans went into every gear and interior is ok.

i still haven't decided if i should attempt to revive it or use it as a parts car donor for my other 93. it doesn't need anything right now but lord knows it's going to, it always does i suppose i'll make up my mind once i dig into it a little, the "bottom end rebuild" makes me a little leery and i can easily see spending thousands to get this car back into top shape including paint etc, altho it may well only be another grand or less to get it running... i'll just have to dig into it.

well on to the pictures

Nice find. How long had it been sitting before you got your hands on it? Lot rot is the worst.

And it even has all of the exhaust tips, very nice.

Ugh... I hope you can turn it around, I hate seeing our cars beaten and broke down. Looks like it has suffered quite a bit, maybe you can return to proper form.

at least 2 months, likely 3-4, all in all it's in pretty good shape. timing gears were exposed and have a tiny bit of surface rust on em, but that should clean up fine... and if not, it's not like i don't have 8 spares here so no issue

it does have all the exhaust tips

i don't know but the tires and rims are good. i actually purchased this car primarily so i would have a spare trans but the rims are pretty close to my ideal so they may find there way onto my car, even tho i prefer the stock look.

one of the fellas i know (boardname gen1 3kgt) came in and mentioned the same thing, he believes they are and may be discontinued, i'll take some better pics as soon as the flatbed gets here... may not be until tomorrow tho
