The shaft seal leaks and it runs down so it can appear to be the fitting. Jeff V wrote a nice guide on rebuilding the cylinders that I need to link on my site. I would say 99% chance this is your problem.

thanks everyone. glad to be back in my old world.actually having fun working on this spyder. not doing anything crazy anymore. just get it in tip top shape and call it a day.maybe a lil 1G conversion thats it.paint job suspension wheels and who knows what else.lmao!! i maybe picking up the DEFTSPYDER soon too for myself. this one is for my oldest kid.

I assume you mean the Tonneau reservoir on the right of the pic. It will empty again if you don't rebuild the cylinders.
