Default gauging interest on a new product for our cars - everyone chime in!

A board member named Vidiit recently did a project in which he disassembled 2g headlights, but instead of doing the standard robo-mod, he covered up a portion of the headlights with fiberglass, and painted it black. I'll let pictures speak for themselves...

Long story short, him and I have been talking, and we've decided to make a couple copies. Making them out of fiberglass would be a bit difficult, so I'm going to cast his design in a solid polyurethane, and give him a portion of the profits. They will come in black, but if any of you wished to paint these to match your car, it could be done, assuming you use a plastics primer first.

Prices have yet to be set, but we're ballparking around $75 for a set. Unfortunately, high grade polyurethane isn't that cheap.

given that price, we'd like to see if there's any interest in this project. I've made a poll, so please either respond to this thread, or add a vote.

Thanks a bunch! Kurt

If i had a 2nd gen i would probably do this or just robo...but if the inside was a little more rounded would be more of my taste.

I was thinking about doing this also.

How are you casting them?

But I'd probably buy a set also, looks pretty good. Would be nice to see them on a car with good paint, and more pics.

Would we have to have the 94 glass headlights to do this, like the robo mod, or will this work with all 2nd gen, lexan and glass?

I'm using a gelcast method with 85D shore polyurethane. I havent decided if i should paint or pigment them yet, or just leave it up to the buyer.

I've never done the robo mod, but i believe you need glass and not lexan to put it in the oven and get to the internals. someone can correct me if im wrong.
