After getting stopped here on long island a couple of times for no front plate, i figured i better put it on before i get a ticket. well this week i should be finishing up my 99 conversion and will not be reinstalling the front plate. i was going to try two options and was wondering if anyone has tried them yet?
1ST option is to use the sport/tour exhaust motor, relocate it up front, extend the wires from the plug in the rear to motor in the front and use the stock exhaust switch to raise and lower plate. (i have a couple of ideas for brackets and stuff to mount the plate to work with the motor.) option 2 is to mount the motor up front like option 1 but wire it into the front active areo wiring. this would allow the plate to lower and raise along with the rear wing. I've tried wiring it this way already and got the motor to work but threw codes every try and had to reset them. the front wiring for the active areo and the exhaust motor seem to be similar but something is off. does anyone know where i can find the wiring schematics for both? con's option 1 : i might forget to lower the plate after being pulled over and get a ticket for no front plate, or worse for having a retractable plate. have to run new wires from rear to front option 2 : i don't usually drive around with the active areo turned on, so plate would normally stay down. wiring might not be possible. pro's option 1 : can leave the front plate all the time until i get pulled over option 2 : plate will lower on it's own every time i stop. and retract on its own at highway speed. right now I'm leaning more to option 1. if anyone has tried this before I'd like to know how you did it? what do you think? thanks for any info, Chris |

I could kill you with....

why not have a linear actuator moving the plate from behind a fog light?
I haven't seen your car, but if you have a FMIC then you probably now have room behind your foglights.

They make a fold away license plate bracket that attached to the bottom of your front bumper then folds underneath when you don't want it there.
My friend showed it to me the other day, but I can seem to find the link. They make a manual one and an electronic one. I'll try to find it. EDIT: FOUND IT!! Altec Show-n-Go Retractable Front License Plate Holder - 400U There is the link.
